The Yangtze River Delta Railway sent over 21.38 million passengers during the May Day holiday

On May 6th, it was learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that during the May Day holiday, the Yangtze River Delta railway sent about 21.381 million passengers, with an average of 4.276 million passengers per day, an increase of 228000 passengers per day compared to the same period last year, an increase of over 5.6%. On May 1st, 4.738 million passengers were sent, setting a new daily high.
This year's May Day holiday, the passenger flow of the Yangtze River Delta railway showed characteristics such as early start, obvious peak, large proportion of medium and short distance, and long duration of peak. The daily average passenger flow within the region is 3.531 million, an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
In order to meet travel needs, Shanghai Railway Group has arranged transportation capacity in three stages and expanded it through various means. The total number of daily passenger train runs is nearly 1700 pairs, the highest in the same period of previous years. During the holiday, a total of 1823 passenger trains were added, 1657 high-speed trains were organized, and 491 conventional passenger vehicles were added. On May 6th, the Yangtze River Delta Railway is expected to send 3.7 million passengers, with plans to add 260 trains and 256 high-speed trains.
